Announcing AFOSR’s 2025 STEM Teacher Leadership Academy Cohort
We are thrilled to announce our next cohort of twenty talented educators who were selected for this year’s STEM Teacher Leadership Academy. The Academy connects K-12 teachers with the Air Force Office of Scientific Research’s (AFOSR) basic science research portfolios during a week of workshops, presentations, and exhibit tours. The AFOSR STEM Team received a record number of applications this year, making this our most competitive program to date. Congratulations to these accomplished educators - we look forward to an incredible week of programming in the months to come!
We would also like to celebrate two former STEM Teacher Leadership Academy alumni who are returning as STLA Mentors this summer: Melissa Green and Steve Strait. Both educators join us from Fairfax County Public Schools. Melissa and Steve were selected to help support and empower our latest cohort as they take on this exciting week of STEM engagement and workforce development.
The 2025 STEM Teacher Leadership Academy will take place from July 28 - August 1, 2025 at the National Air and Space Museum in Washington, D.C. For the first time ever, we are also including a workshop at the U.S. Botanic Garden!
